I have a friend who alleged to be having brain tumor and recovering. However, he only went through one chemotherapy session and claimed to have the tumor totally eradicated. The most suspicious thing is that from diagnosis to recovery, it took only 1 month. Is it possible that he is lying or can cancer really be cured in just 1 month with 1 chemotherapy session.

What do you mean by the word "cure". It is very difficult to say the tumour is TOTALLY eradicated. Before that, how is the diagnosis of the tumour made? Any tissue biopsy?

I think after the chemotherapy what they did was repeating a scan, be it CT or MRI. What could happen was the tumour has reduced in size so much so that it is not evident on the scan. We do not know if they is any remaining tumour cells which are not shown in the scan.

I think it is still too early to say that the patient is "totally cured" at this moment. We can only say he or she is cured after many years and the scan still show no recurrence.

i'm not sure if this is possible but on some type of cancer, one treatment is all that is needed. i think it depends on the type and stage of the cancer.
