Managing herpes & resuming sexual activities

Hi.
I came across this site and was wondering if I can get some advise.
My apologies if this is a repeat topic, but I am somewhat depressed and I didnt feel like doing a search. If there are any related post, please do feel free to close this thread and point me in the right direction.
I'm in an exclusive relationship.
Neither of us fool around nor do we have any disease.
I noticed last year that I developed chapped lips at the corner of the mouth. The doctor I went to said that i'm probably dehydrated, and gave me lip balm. It healed and reoccured, and again the doctor gave me the same thing, and said that it is something that will never heal and will reoccur over time.
Then I noticed that my girlfriend started having the same sore / crack on her lips.
At this point of time, it crossed my mind that I had cold sores, and probably passed it to her. I didnt think it was a serious thing.
Just a few days ago, my girlfriend started developing a slight rash and itchiness around the vaginal area. I just took her to a gynea today, and the gynea prescribed some wash, topical cream and Avezol 150mg capsule ( Fluconazole). The gynea mentioned that its an early sign of herpes.
Can I conclude in this case that I gave my girlfriend genital herpes by performing cunnilingus? I have no other sore / rash/ itchiness anywhere else. Except for the occasional cracks on the corner of my mouth.
Once the itchiness / rash heals, will we be able to resume oral sex? Will it increase the frequency of my cold sore outbreak or will I trigger her rash / itchiness outbreak?

i think it would be best for you to address these questions to your doctor, they could give you proper evaluation regarding your situation. for the meantime, while everything is not clear yet, both of you should avoid doing sexual activities until everything will be back to normal.

Even though cold sore herpes and genital herpes are a slightly different strand of the herpes virus, it is possible that you gave your girlfriend vaginal herpes from your cold sore.
Once your cold sore heals and her genital herpes heal, it will be ok to resume having oral sex again. The herpes a contagious when the fluid from the blisters is open or leaks out. So if there are no blisters or fluid and everything is clear, you should be in the clear.
If you'd like to clear up and heal your herpes faster, try the following:
1. Buy and take some Lysine tablets
2. Take Vitamin B12 (many herpes outbreaks are due to a Vitamin B deficiency, like myself)
3. Avoid foods with Arginine
All of this info is from my personal experience and from a book I read: Cold Sore Free Forever. It'll show you what is causing your herpes outbreaks and how to prevent future outbreaks. You can read about it here:
