Obesity is now one of the world's major silent killers. Sad to say, lots of people have not become on this, or they are aware about it but just didn't pay too much attention over the adverse effects with being obese. As mentioned earlier, this can lead to heart-related problems, diabetes and some bone diseases. In other words, obesity can negatively affect one's longevity.

Ok, I will tell you what I know...

If you are obese, of course it means that
there will be excess fat in your body.

Consequently, your neck will also have
more tissues that it can block your airway
every time you breathe.

If you sleep, you will snore because the
excess fat hinders the air and your throat muscles
become relax (that causes vibration).

So, that is why people who snore are advised
to lose some pounds.

What amanda said was right too. Obesity can
cause so many disease. So, maintain your
ideal weight :-)

Obesity or fatness is nothing but the saturation of the body fats because of the lack of body movements and activities that utilizes the body fat. The more sugar level in blood or more body fats all are the root of diseases; High blood pressure, Diabetes, Heart diseases, Cardio and Cholesterol problems also some mental and psychological problems like hypertension, loss of confidence, feeling lower, depression and anxiety all these are caused because of obesity.

Obesity is a result of a genetic factor or if one is a compulsive eater with a sedentary lifestyle. However, there are certain pathological reasons or diseases which cause obesity. They are explained below:
1) Certain medications taken for psychiatric conditions like depression, diabetes, hypertension, prolonged therapy with steroids, and oral contraceptives.
2) Stress : You tend to eat more as it helps your mind to divert from stress.
3) Certain hormonal disorders like Hypothyroidism and Cushing's syndrome. .
4) Lack of sleep increases weight as your metabolic activity gets altered.
5) Menopause causes weight increase because of the fall in estrogen levels. There are  increased fat deposits typically around the midriff.
