Usually relaxation therapy is enough. If not, anxiety-relieving drugs like diazepam can be used. Beta-blocker like propanolol is used to treat symptoms like palpitation (feeling heart beating fast), tremor, etc.

Herbs? Why herbs while you already know there are scientific ways of treating the condition. Do you think herbs are really free of side effects? In fact it is more dangerous to consume herbal products because we do not know what are the chemicals or substances contained in the herbs!!

I am sorry if my statements offend you. But I really won't go for herbs. See you psychiatrist for help. Take care kutek Smiley

Yes. We do. Just click on the "flashchat" button to chat with other users who are online. Obviously when no user is online, no one would be in the chatroom.  Grin

I would suggest trying Valerian root.  It can be found in the vitamin section of the grocery store.  Valerian is what Valium is derived from.  While it won't help for extreme cases of anxiety, it seems to help me relax a bit, especially at night time. Oh, smells horrible though.  Grin

Oh, and talk to your doctor before taking any over the counter medications or herbal supplements.  Herbal products (like posted previously) are not free of side effects and CAN have interactions with other medications and herbal products.

Just a reminder, herbal products are not regulated by the FDA.

Then why don't you try valium instead?

Generally speaking,it is much better to treat the anxiety disorder by the natural therapy such as acupuncture or the herbal medication which can relieve the anxiety disorder without any drugs.

People with anxiety disorder needs therapeutic communication and medical intervention/s.  It depends on what is the root cause of the problem, because it could be possible that anxiety is only the secondary problem.  You should try to find out what is the reason why the person is anxious it could be health problems, like he is anxious about being overweight and he can't cope in dealing with the situation it could also be environmental.  There are lots of factors why anxiety occurs in a person.
