Induction by Prostin. What dose. How frequent?

I am an intern working in the department of O & G. In my hospital we only induce those with post date + 7 days with prostin provided there is no contraindication.3mg for primigravida and 1.5mg for G2 and above. 6 hours after the first prostin, we will assess the Bishop score. If favourable, for artificial rupture of membrane, if not, for second prostin coming morning. If after 3rd prostin the Bishop Score is still not favourable, then it is considered failed induction of labour and emergency caesarean section will be done.

May I know what is the practice regarding the dosage and frequency of prostin in your hospital? Do you think what is being done in my hospital is optimum?
