I am not sure if this is the correct place for me to ask this question. No intention to offend anyone here. I am currently 16. I can't stop myself masturbating but is it normal? What is the normal frequency? I felt guity each time. How can I get rid of the feeling?  :'(

Please advise.

In my personal view, masturbation is normal and acceptable especially at your age. It is mainly due to your curosity to explore sexuality. But if it is done excessively and leads to negative psychological impacts (feeling guity etc.) then it becomes unhealthy.

May be you can divert your attention by socialising or involving in activities like sports. This to a certain extent can reduce the"frequency" hence the bad feeling.

Yeah, It is normal. Me too, I did masturbation at the age of 15. My advice is Put your mind to other things. Just Pray to God to overcome.

I totally agree with dudley! In fact masturbation is a safe way of releasing sexual tension.

What makes you think you are abnormal?

interesting discussion. I think masturbation is normal. It is just to satisfy one's need for sex. Just like food.

I think masturbation is abnormal, because men must have regular sex 3 -4 a rounds to week =)

masturbation is an alternative way of satisfying someone's desire such as sex. yet, if you'll do it much frequently it wouldn't be normal anymore. so as what they have said, it is just the right way indeed.  Lips Sealed

Sexual urges are healthy and normal. I suppose if you feel like it could be getting in your way of doing other things though that could be more of a problem...
