Does Breastfeeding Make My Child more Intelligent?
«

I am 6 months pregnant now. I was told about benefits of breastfeeding by my family doctor. But he did not tell me whether breastfeeding can make my child more intelligent. Need reliable answers with valid proof.
Thanks

I did a search on pubmed and found that there is no relationship between child's intelligence and breastfeeding although there are numerous benefits of breastfeeding. This does not mean that you can forget about breastfeeding your baby. Someone has replied to your topic in "benefits of breastfeeding" There are much much more than listed there. PLEASE GIVE THE BEST TO YOUR CHILD! That is what parents should do!
Articles I found in pubmed:

I don't heard such thing that breast feeding can make a child more intelligent. In my own point of view intelligence is motivation. Although both child and mother can benefit breastfeeding like on the child's side it could strengthen their immune system and on the mother's side it could help her reduce of having breast cancer.
