Info on Tamiflu:
Oseltamivir (TamiFlu) is a medication that decreases the spread of influenza A and B viruses that cause "flu." Oseltamivir blocks the action of neuraminidase (an enzyme that enables influenza virus to spread from infected cells to healthy cells) hence reducing the spread of the virus. This in turn reduce the symptoms and duration od illness. On average, oseltamivir reduces the duration of symptoms by 1 1/2 days if treatment is started within 48 hours after being symptomatic.

This drug is used to treat uncomplicated influenza infection in adults who have had symptoms less than 2 days. It also is approved for prevention of influenza (for those more than 1 year).

Common side effects of this drus are: nausea (less if taken after meal), vomiting, diarrhea, bronchitis, abdominal pain, headache and dizziness.
