I am asking you, the reader, to comment on my thinking per the situation.

Went to an ortho with complaint of pain and 'pulling', throbbing, etc. in the left arm from preventing a fall backwards due to a slip on computer cable installed recently in front of my blackboard.

I stated the symptoms and ascwell as a full range of motion & abilility.  I have lost not a second in the classroom - only my own time.

My question is : "Why would he, without warning, jerk my arm straight upward?"   My only conclusion has been that he did not believe me - that I was faking.  I was asking for a mri of my arm, btw.   I think he was looking for a pain chart face.  He got one.  I was rubbing me shoulder still when I left the office.
I'm twice as bad as I was.

Can anyone justify that to me and convince me that it was  medically necessary?

MRI is only indicated in cases of suspected soft tissue lesion. No harm doing it if you can pay for the cost. Smiley

He is doing an assessment and in able to confirm your complains, he needs to rate the pain through pain scale.  He also needs to know the range of motion that you are capable of doing.
