Recently the Malaysian government proposed that in future, doctors are not allowed to dispense but the pharmacists. This means that patients only get prescription from doctors and to collect their medicine from pharmacy. What is your opinion on this? Do you think patient will benefit more if this law is implemented? How's the situation in your country?

I do not agree with that proposal! This is because pharmacists can abuse their right for their personal gain! I have seen some pharmacists "play-doctor". They not only selling drugs but also diagnose like what a doctor do. And what even worse is some patients take their diagnosis and certian serious conditions are missed! What I think is more appropriate for the Malaysian context is shared dispensing where patients have their right to choose whether to get their medications from doctors or pharmacists.

tan_md has a point. some pharmacist maybe abused this kind of proposal. it may risk other patient if it will turns bad. and no ones gonna be blame. so we must prevent others from doing malpractice and to avoid much bigger problem. it helps YES but look at the other side. there is a tendency that this option will make others regret and turns bad..
