Very good advice as you know I am still working on this subject, it is so hard but i will try to start walking more. My life is just so hectic right now but i know that's not an excuse. Really Great job. I wrote two hubs on herbal tea and home remedies and found some info on teas that really help in losing weight as well.

Well, Its a nice article about health, And from my experience, I walk twice a day, about 4,000 steps each time, I have always done this having had diabetes for 50 years and exercise being part of my regime.. The nurse at my practice said that what I was doing was "pointless" because I wasn't walking like those people in the Olympic walking marathons.

It is true indeed that walking can help lose weight. But one should not forget though the fun one can get from walking. One can have peace of mind walking down the streets, or park and feel the touch of Mother Nature's magic into one's skin.

Losing weight works on one principle and that is:
Calories burnt should be more than the calorie intake.
Follow these simple tips to make losing weight easy:
1) Calculate your BMR using a BMR calculator(which is available online). BMR indicates the number of calories you require for your existence ie for breathing, metabolism,etc.
2) Calculate (approx.) the calories you consume everyday using the calorie intake calculator(also available on line). It will show you the calories you have consumed by feeding into it the foods and its quantities you have eaten.
3) Using the calorie calculator ( on line), calculate the calories you have burnt by feeding into it your physical activities like walking for how long, swimming for how long,etc.
It will make losing weight more easy if you have a printed chart of:
1) Various foods and their calories.
2) Various exercises and the calories they burn in, say, one hour. For example walking for one hour will burn 350 cals/hour, while swimming will burn 800 cals/hour.

So, to lose weight see if you come to the equation given below.
Calories burnt +  BMR   should be more than   Calories consumed.
To get fast results,
1)  Choose foods that are nutritious but contain less calories.
2)  Choose exercises that burn the most calories.

And remember losing weight should be gradual.
And also remember that, to lose one lb of fat, you will have to burn 3500 calories. So make a plan of gradual weight loss and if you can lose, say 1/2 kilo per week, you should see that it happens every week.

Totally agree with you! I love sports I always try to keep myself in shape! I ran for several years, but then my friend told me to race walking, well, or just walk! And I realized how great it is! I began to walk in the morning! Just walk in the park, breathe fresh air and enjoy nature!

Walking regularly will help you build muscle which in turn increases your metabolism. Once this happens, you burn calories and burn fat off your body. Walking is a great way to use and useful way to lose extra pounds.  More walking you do in your life, a healthy body in shape. Eat less and walk more.

I agree that walking is a great form of exercise. Aside from the fact that you are able to lose some calories, you will also be able to appreciate the beauty of one's surroundings. I have tried hitting the treadmill at the gym for a year and decided to go outdoor middle part of this year. So far, I enjoyed outdoor walking/running. The ground outside has a different feel compared to the machine. Also, the far-reaching areas make running more challenging as one goes the extra mile.

Walking is an excellent form of exercise for almost everyone. No special equipment required, most people can do whatever their actual weight, and can be done anywhere. Since our body tends to adapt quickly to any form of exercise that we are regularly training routine, in fact we can prevent weight loss.

Morning walk or jogging is the most preferred exercise to lose your weight. However, in order to stay healthy, fit and in shape one should exercise regularly by doing workouts in gyms or doing some light weight lifting. Also, you can do cycling for 7-8 kilometers daily so that you can build stronger stamina as well as to burn the extra fat from the body.

- Find out how many calories you need
- Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day
- Do not skip meals
- Watch for the sugary drinks
- Keep a food journal
- Exercise

Walking to lose weight is the best way to get in shape and stay health. However, most people get it all wrong and it never helps them lose any fat. It is the wrong meaning. All you have to do is to walk at a brisk pace, to stop making reasons not to walk and to be consistent. As a result you will get the very attractive body.
